For me, being was avoided by doing. I realised that if I kept busy (aka worked myself into the ground), I wouldn't have to feel. And I had a lot I need to feel as a result of a couple of things that had happened in my life the year before that had been incredibly painful.
We so often hear people say that the way to get through difficult times is to keep busy. Well, I disagree. I don't only think, I know, that for me, the way to get through tough times, is to face the feelings they evoke head on. This year has taught me this more than ever before. Even though I knew it from previous experience. The only way to heal from my burn out has been to just be. In 2019 I have spent more time on the couch watching movies, outside on my lounger reading books (or listening to them), having early nights, napping or working in my 'bed office' than ever before. It has helped me heal. And, that is why I feel so good now. Because I have taken that time. I have been discerning with my time and energy. Question: How have you gotten through tough times? I'd love to hear what works for you. Leave a comment. Come and follow me over on my Facebook page.
